Internet giant Google have confirmed that their iGoogle platform will be embracing things of a gaming variety via some new gadgets soon.

The search engine monolith will use the GDC event in San Francisco to show off a number of gaming "themes" on the way for iGoogle.

"We will be creating an interactive experience that will bring the gaming industry's most iconic characters to life and allow you to ride through their adventures," enthuses and invite offered up to the world by Kotaku.

Some of the gadgets shown off will be linked to OpenSocial, we hear, and it is rumoured that some of them could be fairly significant. Google attempted to get into gaming with their Lively last year. Time for another stab, perhaps?
