Professor Layton and the Devil's Flute sighted
New DS trilogy in the offing at Level-5
A new iteration of DS hit Professor Layton could be on the way; earmarked for release alongside new film, Professor Layton and the Eternal Songstress, which will be released in Japan next year according to Famitsu.
Level-5 are apparently planning a brand new DS 'trilogy', to kick off alongside the new flick, the first part of which will be called Professor Layton and the Devil’s Flute - which will be set three years before the events of the Curious Village.
Layton's pal Luke will once again co-star, as well lady-friend Remi Altava, the game set in a bizarre town that lives under the menace of a giant, who is enraged by the playing of a flute.
"We received word from a lot of gamers during development asking if this (the last installment, The Last Time Travel) was really the end, and that was all the inspiration we needed to create a new trilogy, a ’second season’ of Layton," beamed Level-5's Akihiro Hino.
"With this trilogy, we've got puzzles and tricks that go across all three games. I think each individual game is going to take a lot more time to complete than before. We're challenging ourselves here because we don't want people to think it's the same thing over again."
