Midway's John Woo directed gun-battler Stranglehold went down rather well back in 2007, and the Hollywood Reporter today informs us that a full cinematic adaptation is being planned.

Stranglehold was of course billed as interactive sequel to Woo's seminal Hard Boiled, a gangster flick set in Hong Kong and Chicago. Woo will once again be involved in the new project, we hear.

Missing writers Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio are said to be penning the script right now, but we've no any idea when production will kick off or indeed to what degree Woo and the original game developers will be involved.

More on Stranglehold for the silver screen soon.
