PS3 wins Japanese hardware tussle
Yakuza release sees Sony top chart
The latest hardware numbers are in from Japan, the PS3 outselling every other system in last week's sales battle. The launch of Sega's action-packed Yakuza 3 is credited with seeing Sony's next-gen console take a rare lead.
PS3 sales for the week topped 36,000, followed by the DSi on just under 36,000. Excitingly, the PSP was just behind Nintendo's handheld, with over 35,000 units sold.
After these three close competitors there's a bit of a drop down, where the Wii picks up with sales of just under 18,000. Then there's the Xbox 360 with nearly 12,000.
A whisker off Microsoft's console, with just 21 fewer sales, is the DS Lite handheld - the PS2 last with over 5,000 sales.
More from Japan soon.
