Jobs to be lost at Volition
THQ play down impact of cut-backs
THQ developer Volition are set to face up to large job losses, with the publisher already having admitted that large numbers of staff will be impacted by the cut backs at the maker of Saints Row and Red Faction.
Despite persistent rumours of big problems, these moves will "not result in any layoffs within the core development teams at Volition," THQ are quick to assure us.
THQ's Julie MacMedan added to Edge that "Volition remains a key development studio within THQ and will continue to employ 236 staff."
Volition's Illinois office has so far lost 86 employees, although we do hear the majority of these were temps, in addition to a number of full-time workers. We'll bring you more from the world of THQ soon.
