Watchmen game hits 360 and PS3

The officially licensed Watchmen: The End is Nigh game has now been released on the Xbox Live Arcade, and on the PlayStation Network. The new film, based on the graphic novel, will premier this Friday in Europe.

A demo of the game for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 is also now available, allowing players to sink their teeth into this fighter before shelling out cold, hard currency.

The End is Nigh costs 1200 Microsoft Points on the Arcade, or 12.99 GBP on the PlayStation Store, and acts as a sort of prequel to the events of the film - which closely mirrors the original book.

Visually, the Watchmen looks fairly impressive, but what remains to be seen is whether the plot can live up to the depths explored in the source material. The game stars Rorschach and Nite Owl; two of the central character's from the film.
