Activision sued over True Crime character
Crais persues damages and halt to shipment
US crime novelist Robert Crais is apparently taking legal action against publisher Activision claiming that the game's lead character, one Nick Kang, bares more than a passing resemblance to his own creation, Elvis Cole. The writer is seeking an injunction to prevent Activision from shipping the game next month, as well as an undisclosed sum in damages.
The Crais character is apparently an LAPD cop with a penchant for sunglasses and violence, "expressions" which have allegedly been pinched by Activision for their lead game character.
The publisher hasn't officially commented; though apparently don't expect the title to be delayed. A more credible case than ex-wrestler Max Payne pursuing Take 2, Remedy and 3D Realms?
