Square optimistic over 2009 release for FFXIII
In Japan, that is
Fresh from their ongoing take-over of troubled Tomb Raider publisher Eidos, Square Enix have yet more to offer us on the news front this afternoon, Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama revealing that a 2009 release is still looking 'favourable'.
Toriyama, speaking with Famitsu (thanks Kotaku), said that "development is going favourably for a 2009 launch."
The writer's comments come after big boss Yoichi Wada said the firm's huge new RPG might slide into 2010, alongside Dragon Quest IX.
The game will be released on the PS3 only in Japan, and it is this release that's under question, a Western release on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 most likely in 2010 from what we can gather.
