Halo: Recon name change explained
ODST a better reflection...
Speaking with Gameplayer, Microsoft Game Studio product manager Ryan Crosby has said that the decision was taken to change Halo: Recon's name to Halo: ODST in order to offer a name that better reflected the game in question.
"We've changed the name because we feel that it is a more accurate reflection of the game experience," Crosby explains. The title was changed late last year following the game's unveiling at the Tokyo Game Show.
"The ODSTs play a pivotal role in the human-Covenant struggle, and we want to make sure that everyone understands that you play as a member of this elite unit. While Halo 3: ODST is an extension of Halo 3, playing as an ODST makes this experience quite different from others within the Halo universe."
More on Halo: ODST soon, we hope.
