Resident Evil 6 will mark series renaissance

Break from the past possible for next outing

Chatting with US site 1UP.com, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has said that the sixth entry to the series will see the franchise given a complete overhaul; a 'reboot'.

Apparently, Resident Evil 5 will be the 'last of its kind', despite initially positive feedback concerning Capcom's new survival horror game, set in the wilds of Africa.

It seems the publisher simply feel a new look and ambience might be necessary for the age-old series, although whether this means the long-running central hero will be waving goodbye too remains to be seen.

More on Resident Evil 5, in the meantime, as release nears.
