Madworld creator admits Japanese design struggle

Inaba-san concerned over Weastern lead

Atsushi Inaba, the man behind Madworld, Okami and Viewtiful Joe, says that Japanese game designers are continuing to fall behind their Western rivals.

Speaking with Develop, Inaba-san states that "western developers are superior to those in Japan overall."

He continued: "So we the Japanese developers should realize that we have to work hard to reach the western level. We're fast reaching a stage where it's going to be about individual developers and not about what country they are in, globalisation is coming to our industry too."

He hopes that more originality will help spearhead the future of gaming; amen to that, brother.
