Quake Live testing begins tomorrow
id Software's test goes open
An open beta for id Software's latest opus, the browser-based Quake Live, will begin tomorrow, word in from John Carmack's outfit reveals over the weekend.
The February 24th open beta will allow everyone to have a dabble with this reinvention of the multiplayer classic, which will be free-to-play, funded by advertising and sponsorship initiatives.
As well as standard competitive action, the test will even boast a range of leaderboards and matchmaking.
id Software tell us that statistics accrued during the closed beta process will be wiped, offering everyone a blank canvas from which to enter the fray. More soon.
