Warner Bros has backed the proposed Square Enix-Eidos takeover bid, reports GamesIndustry.

The giant media firm is a 20 per cent stakeholder in the game publisher.

Warner's agreement means the number of shares behind the acquisition is up to 96 million, making the deal look more likely to happen.

Shares in were trading at 32.25 pence when the markets opened for the week.
