Ubsioft signs freerunner Michael 'Frosti' Zernow as chief parkour officer for Assassin's Creed

Zernow has served on the mo-cap team on previous Assassin's Creed titles

Ubisoft has announced that they have secured the services of prominent freerunner Michael 'Frosti' Zernow as chief parkour officer.

Zernow will serve as the technical advisor on all things parkour for the Assassin's Creed series going forward including this year's next-gen release Assassin's Creed: Unity.

The French developer/publisher said in a statement, "Ubisoft's new Chief Parkour Officer will serve in a strategic advisory role, ensuring an ongoing commitment to the authenticity and accuracy of parkour beginning with the October 28 launch of Assassin's Creed: Unity, the next installment of the 76 million unit-selling Assassin's Creed franchise. He will also advise on ways for the company and its franchise to continue its ongoing advocacy for the sport." Previously Zernow has coached at the Tempest Freerunning Academy in California as well as serving on the motion capture team for the Assassin's Creed series. "I've been a long-time fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise,” Zernow added, “and it's one of the few highly visible examples of parkour that attracts younger athletes to the sport every year."

Assassin's Creed: Unity is due to be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October the 28th.
