UK politician says games should educate us on climate change
Lord Puttnam wants more education in games
The chair for the UK's Joint Parliamentary Committee Lord David Puttnam is looking for video games to help educate the population on climate change.
"Serious games based upon real-life geography should be vital tools in our fight against climate change," he said in a statement picked up by Joystiq.
"Educating people about the impact of prolonged changes to our climate in an accessible way is the best catalyst for action I know."
Puttnam is member of the Labour party and film maker, known for producing Chariots of Fire and Bugsy Malone.
The effect of climate change has rarely been the focus for games developers thus far, could Puttnam's views inspire a new genre of gaming?
