DICE looking into Kinect support for the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4
Battlefield 4 executive producer Patrick Bach has been talking about the kind of next-gen features they are bringing to the Xbox One verison of the game.
In an interview on the Xbox News Wire Bach revealed that they are looking into incorporating Kinect-powered head tracking and voice control for Xbox One players. He also spoke of the SmartGlass support which will allow players to view an overhead map of the battlezone while they fight on the big screen.
Bach said, “I think time will tell as we’re just getting our hands and creative thinking around what these new platforms can do. In Battlefield 4, we’re pushing in every way that we can. Through SmartGlass, Xbox players will be able to view the overhead map during multiplayer matches and take advantage of the second screen. Also, with Kinect, we’re looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement as well as incorporating voice commands.”
Battlefield 4 is a launch title for the Xbox One which will arrive in 13 territories including North America and the UK on November the 22nd.
