Lowly sales for Banjo-Kazooie stateside
Poor US numbers for Rare's opus
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts may have been one of Microsoft's most heavily backed Christmas releases, the Rare-developed Xbox 360 exclusive one of the game's Redmond tipped to spearhead interest in the console among non-hardcore players, but despite this we learn this week that the game sold less than 150,000 copies in the the States prior to Christmas.
A figure of 140,000 copies for 2008 is touted by Gamespot, who derive their data from the latest NPD Group results for December.
Fable II, meanwhile, managed sales in excess of 1.2 million copies in the US, while we hear that 19% of all US game sales were related to the Xbox platform.
We're unsure how European sales compare at this stage.
