Xbox hits and are likely to go multiplatform for future iterations, thats the hint from exec Keiji Inafune, who also tells Famitsu (thanks Kotaku) that sequels are definitely on the way.

"We're finally putting out new Dead Rising and Lost Planet games! As a main principle we're thinking about multi-platform, and expanding upon both slightly from the versions," he told the Japanese gaming weekly.

Sequels to these hits have been rumoured for some time, and with the now building a stronger user-base, it was always likely Capcom wouldn't ignore a second time around.

A special version of Dead Rising is right now being readied for the Wii, while Lost Planet also went down well on the PC. More on these eagerly awaited sequels, shortly.

Update: Refusing to be further drawn on Inafune's comments, Capcom this afternoon tell VG247 that this could have been a "mistranslation", the publisher offering no new announcements.
