Next-gen upgrade scheme for Call Of Duty: Ghosts not quite as good as it seems
Activision has announced the details of their promised upgrade scheme for those who buy Call Of Duty: Ghosts on current-gen and then want upgrade to the next-gen version when the Xbox One and PS4 arrive.
It seems that those who buy it digitally get the best deal. Microsoft fanboys can pick up a dual license digital version of the game which includes Xbox 360 and Xbox One download codes for 70 USD. The other way is to buy the game on Games On Demand through the Xbox 360 and then they have until march 31st to pick up the xbox One version for 10 USD on the Xbox One through the same Xbox Live account.
At retail most offers seem to centre around trading the PS3/Xbox 360 version for their next-gen counterparts. Retailers are offering substantial trade-in values for the current-gen versions when traded in against the requisite next-gen versions which will reduce the cost of the next-gen versions to 10 USD/10 GBP.
It is also worth noting that no US retailers are currently advertising a trade-in offer for upgrading from the PS3 version to the PS4 version of Call Of Duty: Ghosts. The game is set to be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November the 5th. The Xbox One version is due on November the 22nd and the PS4 version arrive sin the US on November the 15th and Europe on November the 29th.
