MobileToday are this week reporting to divulge word that European mobile maker Ericsson had been hoping to create a PlayStation-branded mobile phone, before Sony central dismissed the idea.

A PlayStation mobile has been regarded by onlookers as something of an inevitability for several years, but the mobile technology site rumours that requests for access to the gaming brand were turned down by Sony bosses.

Gossip suggests that Sony don't get on too well with their mobile branch and that this 'fallout' could actually result in Ericsson going their own way.

The decision against a PlayStation-branded mobile handset was apparently taken in December; although this new could of course be nonsense.
