Pandemic to get Battlefront series back?
Rumour hints that third game could be on the move
Rumour this weekend, originating from UK blog VG247, hints that Star Wars: Battlefront III could be heading back to original series creators Pandemic.
An insider source is quoted as hinting that the eagerly awaited title could be returning to its roots, Pandemic having crafted the first entry back in 2004 - before the studio was taken over by publishing giant EA.
Free Radical confirmed that they were working on the third version of the series a year or two after the second game's release, but the game apparently departed the British developer last year, precipitating the developer's financial troubles.
Free Radical remains in administration, while previous rumour hints that the game is on the way to Rebellion - contrary to this report.
EA would no doubt love to get their hands on a Star Wars title however, making a move back to Pandemic all the more likely. Meanwhile, footage of the game leaked onto YouTube has been confirmed as genuine.
