Half-Life 2 slips to 2004

Disaster has struck ladies and gentlemen; owing to the recent leak of the Half-Life 2 source code from developer Valve Software, reports now reach us that the publisher, Vivendi Universal, has confirmed that the game will now not ship before Christmas - a veritable disaster for the developer, publisher and the game's hordes of anticipant fans.

Apparently, the leak from Valve's network included over one-third of the game, incorporating key components such as Valve's anti-piracy and security systems. This new slippage news came courtesy of VU Games' chief exec Christophe Ramboz, so we've no reason to doubt it's credibility.

So, early (well, April) 2004 it is then, we're told. Thanks Gamesindustry.biz.
