Japanese veterans Treasure could partner with to release Radiant Silvergun - the precursor to the acclaimed Ikaruga - on the Live Arcade.

Treasure's creations have a cult following in Japan, and Microsoft clearly feel a few retrograde releases from the studio can aid their hard-fought progress in the land of the rising sun.

Treasure boss Masato Maegawa tells Gamasutra.com this his firm are considering their options: "Microsoft actually asked us if we could put it out. We’re thinking about it, certainly, but it’s not as simple as just saying ‘OK, let’s put it up.’

"I mean, sure, with Ikaruga, we released it as-is without having to do or add a great deal to the game, and it was popular and well accepted for what it was. But if you play Radiant Silvergun nowadays, it’s certainly aged in assorted ways, and I’m not sure they’re all good," he continues.

A remake or sequel seems likely, then, although Treasure are yet to be convinced by the option, apparently.
