According to reports from The Tehran Times, the middle-eastern nation of Iran has become a fully fledged member of the - the Electronic Software Ratings Board.

The country hopes that being a part of the group will help the nation's censors better educate people about the games available for purchase, and provide support to local game makers.

According to Behruz Minaii, boss at the National Foundation for Computer Games, Iran's membership has been in the works for over a year, with several experts as well as religious, social and media bodies assisting

"This plan will help families get better ideas about selecting games for their children and can set a good example for cinematic and productions," offered Minaii. "It also helps support our domestic producers and gives better assistance to the distributors."
