Indie developers create a piano that plays DOOM

Piano unveiled at the Virgin Media Game Space today

In the true spirit of independent development a group of developers have managed to create a version of DOOM controlled entirely by piano.

The piano is being presented to the public today at the Virgin Media Game Space in London and was created using a combination of copper tape and I-PAC keyboard encoders to allow the keys to interface with the computer installed in the piano body itself.

Each of the white keys has been calibrated to control movement with the black keys all firing the equipped weapon.

It was put together by the Game Space's organiser David Hayward, Polish developer Sos Sosowski, George Buckenham from Die Gute Fabrik and Ricky Haggett from Honeyslug.
