Aussie stimulus sees games spike
Console sales surge as economic boost hits
Word on the interweb this evening reveals that gaming is enjoying something of a boom in Australia, despite the economic outlook, the country's stimulus plan seeing gaming purchases rise.
Aussie PM Ken Rudd has introduced a cash injection worth more than 10 billion AUD, and in tandem with this bump-up, games purchases have risen some 39%.
According to Microsoft, retailers have been left clamouring for fresh stocks following the consumer-spending splurge, however the Wii is the real winner, selling over 130,000 systems since the government move.
By comparison 45,700 Xbox 360s have been shifted and 26,000 PS3s. More on this as we get it.
