Fallout 3 is selling like hotcakes, so it is little wonder that are already happy to be discussing their plans for the new game - revealing that Operation: Anchorage will arrive in January.

The new DLC will cost 800 Points, and will offer four or five hours of gameplay, according to producer Jeff Gardiner.

Speaking with IGN, Gardiner reveals that the content will be accessible to players of any level, assuming they have left Vault 101; a quest objective will give you the necessary instructions.

Apparently, Operation: Anchorage is based on 3 history, a military simulation, based on a battle with China's Red Army.

This side-diversion will be a simulation, so non-traditional game rules will apply, giving players access to unique tools, weapons, et al. The simulation is set in a world prior to Dooms Day, so we can expect very different locales - Bethesda promising snow and ice abound.

Beyond this January DLC release, the developer will deliver The Pitt in February, and Broken Steel in March.

More on all this as we get it.
