PlayStation Home launching tomorrow
Sony date it, at last
Sony Computer Entertainment's frequently delayed Home social networking world will officially enter open beta tomorrow, giving all PlayStation 3 owners access to the online world, free.
The December 11th debut covers all regions in which the PS3 is available, we hear, and this news comes after weeks of conjecture about the service's launch status - some gamers fearing Home might slide into 2009.
Home will launch directly from the XMB, and will be added via PSN download, SCE hoping the new "game" (if that's indeed what it is) can spark something of a social revolution.
"PlayStation Home is truly a promising network community service on the PlayStation platform, made possible with the powerful combination of PS3’s overwhelming computational power and PlayStation Network that covers many countries around the globe," beams Kaz Hirai.
"We are committed to providing PS3 users with exciting gaming experiences with PlayStation Home and together with our partners and users, expand the new world of interactive entertainment as we move forward."
