Professor Layton film due in 2010

The First Movie to premiere in Japan

Professor Layton: The First Movie has been scheduled for a 2010 release in Japan, according to IGN.

Word on the movie's debut came via a press event to mark the Japanese launch of Professor Layton and the Final Time Journey.

Initially announced before the Tokyo Games Show, the animated film will feature the original cast providing the voices.

Localized versions of the movie were not mentioned at the event, but a translation will surely be on the cards.

The Professor Layton franchise has been hugely successful in Japan with total sales of 2.45 million.
