The big-daddy PlayStation 3 version of isn't yet out the door, but that doesn't mean the PlayStation Portable version of the - in the works for years - remains on the back burner.

Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi won't say how far along the project is, but he he did reveal that the release remains a going concern, with work still underway on the eagerly awaited title.

"There’s no real answer we can discuss right now, but production is moving forward," he told IGN on the release, adding this on the PSP title: "I can only answer the same for that as well, but it is moving forward. It hasn’t been knocked off the plans: it’s there."

Hopefully the new year will yield fresh details on this - assuring better PSP news in 2009.
