Lich King racks up 2.8m in 24 hours
New record for PC platform
News in from Blizzard today proudly proclaims that World of Warcraft's new add-on pack, Wrath of the Lich King, has sold an incredible 2.8 million copies just 24 hours after going on sale.
Apparently, this makes the long awaited expansion the fastest selling PC title in history, the game bettering the previous record, held by WoW's The Burning Crusade expansion.
These sales come without the help of China or Australasia, the success based on North American and PAL region sales - so who knows how far the game will go once release everywhere.
World of Warcraft has 11 million subscribers, and an economy larger than Bulgaria's. Or something.
