Credit crunch? What credit crunch? owners Viacom are apparently very pleased with Harmonix's work on the series, and it has been confirmed that the developer will receive a bonus of 300 million dollars for their efforts.

Apparently, the game has dramatically exceeded their expectations, resulting in the pay out of nearly 200 million GBP, which was apparently part of the 2006 deal.

Half of the vast sum has already been paid, while the other half will land at the end of 2009, leaving a few game makers richer than some of the artists they pay homage to in their games.

"We may not have anticipated the payment would be that high, but it's based on what they have achieved," Viacom spokeswoman Kelly McAndrew revealed to Bloomberg.

Rock Band 2 is due out on the 21st of November. Rock and indeed roll.
