Doubt hangs over GTA IV DLC
Release date conjecture rages
Speaking to Variety magazine, Rockstar boss Dan Houser has admitted that there is some doubt over whether the Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content being created for Grand Theft Auto IV will make it out in time for Christmas.
Online reports suggest Rockstar's special content won't be ready in time, despite upbeat predictions from Microsoft, who it is believed paid big in order to secure the content.
Houser admitted he wasn't sure whether it would be out in time, continuing: "It’s going well. But we don't know a date. We hope to be announcing that in the next few weeks. We're still figuring out a few things. We're more focused on quality than dates, always have been. But the development is going really good. It's shaping up to be something we’re very proud of. That was our goal."
Rockstar will apparently reveal more on the nature of the content pre-release, Houser keen not to mislead people: "We don’t want them to imagine it's this enormous thing that it can never be."
He added that there are also a few nerves, as the developer have never undertaken a major DLC release before. We'll keep you posted on this.
