Dennis Hopper, one of the stars of the 1993 film Super Bros has revealed his true feelings towards the movie.

Speaking on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" Hopper admitted it perhaps wasn't one of his most memorable performances.

When the Oscar-nominated actor was asked if he regretted any of his films, Hopper responded with the following story:

"I made a picture called Super Mario Bros., and my six-year-old son at the time - he's now 18 - he said, 'Dad, I think you're probably a pretty good actor, but why did you play that terrible guy King Koopa in Super Mario Bros.?' and I said, 'Well Henry, I did that so you could have shoes,' and he said, 'Dad, I don't need shoes that badly.'"

One wonders if it's simply a case of sour grapes as Hopper missed out on the lead role of Mario, an honour that went to the legendary Bob Hoskins.
