Features cut from New Xbox Experience
But bedrock now in place
While Microsoft's eagerly awaited New Xbox Experience dashboard update is all set to arrive on November 19th (despite the fact that work on the new-look Live isn't actually concluded yet), we learn today that more than half of Microsoft's planned features have been cut from the service.
Microsoft have already admitted that social quiz features have been culled from this debut, and will instead arrive next spring, and it emerges that other, secret elements may also have been chopped.
"There’s still a lot of stuff we want to do," Xbox Live’s Jerry Johnson confessed to CVG.
"Half the things we wanted to do we cut out of the service.
"One of the nice things we did was this architectural change to make things more published and driven from the service. All of a sudden we opened up the platform to say ‘I don’t have to wait until once or twice a year to release something onto the dashboard’."
More to come, it would seem.
