Speaking to GI.biz, Games boss Mike Capps has said that are winning the tussle, thanks in part to the innovations about to be ushered in by the New Experience.

Xbox Live has been one of the great success stories of the Xbox 360, and Capps clearly sees the service continuing in this defining role.

"The way they’re expanding the Live presence - you know, they’re leading right now, they’re winning," the exec enthused.

"And the way you continue to do that is to keep adding cool stuff that everybody wants. is a great example - making me watch my on my Xbox."

The will place Live - and its content - at the very heart of the console, and Capps can see why Microsoft have made this move: "I love the fact that you boot through the dashboard now - I understand how some gamers might not like it so much, but that’s how you join into the experience - your dashboard comes up, you get to see what’s new, hey, there’s some free stuff you didn’t know about - instead of just booting into your game and missing the community."

More soon.
