Call of Duty wins big at Golden Joysticks
Awards flood in for ActiBlizz
The prestigious annual Golden Joystick awards were held at the Park Lane Hilton in London yesterday, and it looks as if it was a good day for Activision Blizzard, and their seminal Call of Duty 4.
Infinity Ward's groundbreaking FPS won the Nuts award, PC game of the year, Online game of the year and even Ultimate game of the year. Activision Blizzard won best publisher.
Elsewhere and Acti's luck continued, the firm taking the Sun award for Guitar Hero. Handheld title of the year was Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Bejeweled 2 was top mobile title, while Super Smash Bros. Brawl was judged to be Nintendo top-dog.
Xbox game went to GTA IV, as did the soundtrack gong, while Rockstar North won the UK developer award.
Metal Gear Solid 4 was the best PlayStation title, Play.com was best retailer, while Fallout 3 was Edge's most wanted... and Call of Duty: World at War is the one to watch, apparently. More soon.
