'Gritty' Gears flick mooted
Screenwriter talks up new project
Chris Morgan, the screenwriter working on the new Gears of War film project, has promised a gritty cinematic experience that will offer a 'dirty' take on the games, but with lighter dialogue in places to keep things fun.
"I can’t write a joke to save my life, but I can, at the right moment, tap into that human thing that comes in when you’re in a foxhole and things are raining down," the writer told MTV.
He added that it will "gritty and real" for the most part, but that there will also be more fun instances, too.
"Look outside at your city and imagine that the Locust started rising — that’s how I want it to feel," he continued, revealing that the new movie will blend live action and CGI.
