Maguire: No PS3 price cut this year
Online the key to UK sales
PlayStation UK boss Ray Maguire has told Videogamer.com that there will be no PS3 price cut, the exec affirming that while there is pressure, price isn't the main issue, and that Sony's business must come first.
"The pressure comes from the consumers, obviously, and so therefore there’s always pressure on price, but you know we have a business to run, and we have to make sure we’re doing the right thing for the shareholders as well," Maguire explained.
"At the moment there’s a marketplace for PS3 and I think for this particular Christmas, with the kind of quality of games we’re seeing coming out this Christmas, I don’t think the price of the console is going to be an issue at all."
The boss assures that the console is hitting its sales targets, adding that the PS3 is selling well in the UK - the third largest market in the world. He continued, stating that he believes online is the key.
