Wii Music more creative than Guitar Hero - Miyamoto
Launch looms for new music title
Chatting with US site GameSpot, legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Guitar Hero plays second-fiddle to Wii Music and is a 'cover band' by comparison.
Wii Music is out on the 14th of November, but has so far drawn mixed review.
"As a game designer, I looked at Beatmania and Guitar Hero. Those games let people be the best cover band they could possibly be. As a musician, I wanted to create a game that lets people express themselves in music, and with Wii Music I think we achieved that," Miyamoto explained.
"With Wii Music, everyone in the house can pick it up and, within a few minutes, start playing music... Wii Music lets people experience that higher level of musical creation without having to spend years training."
The game maker describes his latest casual creation as a music arrangement 'engine', and apparently it'll let you play around with some 60 tracks - creating different sounds depending upon your actions.
He adds that this isn't a game aimed at casual or hardcore gamers, but rather its all about music fans. He also teased that Zelda hasn't been forgotten.
