"Gamers are incredibly smart" - Gabe Newell
But publishers are not, it would seem
Valve Software boss Gabe Newell has said that games publisher don't give their audience enough credit, and certainly don't listen to them enough when it comes to creating new games.

"It seems by and large that gamers are incredibly smart; the average gamer seems to know more about what makes a good game than the average person at a publisher," Newell is quoted as stating.
The big cheese thinks a lot of us gamers it would seem; either that, or he's taking a poke at the be-suited employees of the big publishers.
