StarCraft II will be divided into a trilogy
'Expansions' will follow first part
As we mentioned in BlizzCon reports over the weekend, StarCraft II will apparently be split into three parts - a trilogy of sorts - owing to the complexity of the game's plot.
We today learn that the three parts will be based around each of the game's factions, and these will be named - Terrans: Wings of Liberty, Zerg: Heart of the Swarm, and Protoss: Legacy of the Void.
Apparently, Blizzard opted to break the game up at the end of 2007, deciding that this was preferable to drastically cutting the singleplayer portion of the game.
Terrans: Wings of Liberty will be the first game out the door, with the other episodes following at up-to yearly intervals. Each will apparently have 26 to 30 missions.
The multiplayer portion of the game will be introduced from the get-go, but new content will be added as the expansions emerge, we're told.
More on StarCraft II as we get it.
