Nintendo have been promising a solution to the console's limited storage issue for some months now, the firm assuring that they will give users a way of keeping hold of the platform's ever-increasing selection of downloadable games.

That solution arrived today in the same Tokyo press conference that also saw the Big N unveiling the handheld, the platform holder confirming that the Wii will support downloads saved to SD card.

The new SD card support will be ushered in come spring 2009 - and it'll no doubt come alongside an upping in the quantity of content available for the platform.

More shortly.
