Guillemot: Clancy games set for Wii
Work underway...
Ubisoft big wig Yves Guillemot has let slip to Game Daily that the publisher will send some of their Tom Clancy games the way of the Wii system.
The games won't, however, be ready anytime in the near future. He offered: "Tom Clancy will appear [on the Wii] at one point. We need to make sure they [look good]"
He also implies that moving traditional high-end games onto the Wii is proving something of a challenge.
"We have engines that were created for the next-generation consoles. We had to re-engineer a certain number of engines to be sure we could use the quality of the machine. Even without the graphics, the experience can still be very interesting."
The Ubi chief hints more Wii games will be released in the future generally, suggesting that 'proper' games can do well on the format.
