In what might be something of a first, are planning to launch their new game on two discs for the 360, this because of the limitations the format places on data and file sizes.

id Software had apparently been planning to create a vast game world - five or six wasteland locales - but designer Tim Willits reveals this will now be squished down into two larger worlds, one for each DVD.

"The is limitless in the amount of data you can put on it. The has about 25GB. But the roughly has 6 to 8 GB of data. We're hoping we can squeeze the game down to two discs for the 360 version," Willits revealed to site 1UP.com.

"I wouldn't say the overall story was changed in any way in order to fit on the Xbox 360 version, but how the player experiences Rage's story has been altered."

The game is likely to be out late next year. We'll bring you more as it nears.
