Word in from the bean counters this morning reveals that Japanese publisher have acquired a 34% share of Atari's European and Asian network - at a cost of 30 million Euros.

The deal will also allow Namco, should they wish to, to buy the remaining 66% of the network between 2012 and 2013.

"I am delighted that this transaction strengthens our outstanding partnership with Namco Bandai, one of the industry’s greatest creators and publishers of video games, and is a significant in Infogrames’ reinvention," Infogrames boss David Gardner told the press.

"The agreement will give Infogrames a guaranteed and strengthened product portfolio and provide us additional means to invest in new product development for packaged and markets."

More business shenanigans as they stream off the web-pipe.
