SecuROM set for Red Alert 3 inclusion
But more friendly than Spore
Despite people getting really rather angry about EA using SecuROM in their new release Spore (the technology prevents the game being installed more than three times), the publisher have confirmed the system will also be used in the PC release of Red Alert 3.
While this is likely to rile members of the PC gaming fraternity, as well as anti-DRM activists, EA do promise the implementation will be somewhat more forgiving for the new Command & Conquer release.
SecuROM won't re-authenticate after installation, thankfully, although it will check your game's validity when launching for the first time. We also hear you won't need the disc in your PC to play the game following installation, although re-installations will be limited to five times before EA customer support will have to validate further installations.
More RA3 as we get it.
