World of Warcraft won't be getting one vast graphical update, rather have said they will take a gradual, "organic" approach to enhancing the MMOs aesthetics.

Producer J Allen Brack told Worldofwar about the developer's strategy, after implying in previous interviews that the game would be freshened-up for the next expansion pack (following the Lich King add-on).

"It's important to note that in general we're taking an iterative, organic approach to graphics upgrades, going feature by feature as opposed to thinking in terms of an overall 'new graphics engine'," the game maker explained.

"For example, we've discussed plans for new visuals for water, but this would be for a future content update or expansion."

That said, the imminent Lich King expansion will also see a few graphical tweaks implemented, Blizzard are quick to point out.
