Jens Uwe Intat, EA's European publishing chief, has admitted the giant publisher intensely dislikes the second-hand games market.

Intat told GI.biz that the situation is "critical", and that cannot continue to miss out on potential 'new' sales as a result of second-hand exchanges.

"I’d actually make the point that for us second-hand sales is a very critical situation, because people are selling multiple times intellectual property," the executive explained.

Online is key, apparently. "What we’re trying to do is build business models that are more and more online-supported with additional services and additional content that you get online. So people will see the value in not just getting that physical disc to play at home alone, but actually playing those games and paying for them."

What are your thoughts on second games, dear readers?
