Age of Conan, the big-name from genre veterans Funcom, now has 415,000 active subscribers, according to word out of the firm this week.

Financial report numbers were confirmed by the studio, after product manager Erling Ellingson suggested there were over 400,000 'real' subscribers - that's people paying every month to play the game - rather than just those who bought the boxed copy and played for the free trial period.

This makes the most successful MMO to launch following World of Warcraft's epic arrival. Online was previously the best newcomer, although with Online looming, could be fierce as approaches.

More on Conan soon.
